Founded in the early 1960’s by German speaking parents, the Brisbane German Language School is an independent, community-based school for native and non-native German speakers.

The school is a non-profit organization and is managed by an annually elected parent committee.

It pays its way through membership and tuition fees, government grants and fundraising activities.
